Last week we began studying Hebrews 10:24-25. “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” We discovered that these verses deal with more than just a command to go to church. They also give instructions on what to do when we get here. How do we do church by the Book? First, we saw the why and the how of provoking one another to love. Today we will examine how to stir up one another to good works. A chapter in the New Testament that repeats the theme of good works over and over is Titus 3. Four truths stir up to good works.
1. Good works come from belonging to Christ, 2:13-14.
2. Good works result from being reminded, 3:1.
3. Good works are the fruit of salvation, 3:4-8.
4. Good works are a part of discipleship, 3:14.
