I typically try to visit our local Royal Family Kids Camp each summer. Every year I see the church in action. Not just River Cities Church, but believers from many congregations working as one to minister to and love on children who came to camp from very difficult situations. Not only did I see the church in action, I learned a valuable lesson.
The kitchen staff was busy fixing grilled cheese sandwiches. They had a fantastic system of preparation. I sat and watched. Then as they were grilling the sandwiches, I pointed out some were in danger of burning. I was handed a spatula and invited to handle it. Wow!
Isn't that what the church should be doing? Instead of people standing around pointing out the flaws, we should grab a "spatula" and fix the problem!
Got your spatula?
