“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” This sign hangs in my office to serve as a constant reminder to pay attention to what’s important. So what is the main thing? Jesus did not leave it up to us. When He was asked which of the 613 Old Testament commandments was the most important, He replied that we should love God supremely and love others deeply.

Last week we explored what it means to love God supremely. Today, as believers striving to “Live By The Book” let’s analyze the second half of Jesus’ statement, “And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This command is repeated on several other occasions in the New Testament which gives a pretty full description of its meaning.
