Scott Duncan

Senior Pastor

Growing up in a Christian home, Scott trusted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of six. He graduated from Tri-State Bible College and received a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2023, he completed his Doctorate of Ministry in Strategic Leadership from Corban University.

Scott joined the RC3 team in February 2008 as an Associate Pastor, serving primarily in our Discipleship and Outreach Ministries. He became Senior Pastor in January 2024.

Scott and his wife, Jennifer, have three children: Ben, Anna, and Jonathan.

Rob Reed

Worship Pastor

As a young teen, Pastor Rob trusted Christ as Savior and was later baptized. Recognizing God's gifts, he entered into full-time service during his senior year of high school. Rob is a 1993 graduate of Cedarville University and received his Master of Divinity in 2000 from Baptist Bible Seminary.

Rob came to RC3 in September 2011 with more than 17 years of experience leading worship, mentoring, training, and shepherding volunteers in the creative arts. He and his wife Mindy, who also serves in the Worship Arts Ministry, have six children.

Keith Biddle

Administrative Pastor

Keith was raised in a Christian home and received Jesus as Savior and Lord at an early age. He and his wife, Wanda, have two adult sons, Ryan and Jason, who received salvation and were baptized at River Cities (RC3). The Biddles welcomed their first grandchild in 2018. They have been members of RC3 since 2001 and have served in various ministries and offices over the years.

Keith earned a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a Master of Hospital Administration degree from Xavier University, and a BA-P from the University of Cincinnati.

In 2023, while serving as an Elder, Keith was asked to pray about taking on the role of full-time Administrative Pastor. He believed the Lord was leading in this and accepted the call. He retired from Cabell Huntington Hospital in January of 2024 and began his pastoral ministry.

Larry Greene

PASTOR EMERITUS

Pastor Emeritus Larry Greene grew up in a Christian home in Loves Park, Illinois, and placed his faith in Christ at age seven. He has a B.S. degree in Secondary Education from Tennessee Temple University, a Master of Divinity degree from Temple Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Pastor Larry and his family came to RC3 in 1996. The Greenes have three adult children: David (Randi) Greene, Rachel (Isaiah) Haynie, and Rebekah (Gabriel) Hinerman. Pastor Larry and his wife, Mary, faithfully served as Senior Pastor and Office Manager, respectively, for over 27 years. Since retiring in December 2023, they continued to work together as Pastor Larry finished writing a book and Mary typed it. They have also enjoyed extra "Pops and Gigi" time with their nine grandchildren.

Meet the Team

Ronda Shockley

Nursery & Childcare Director
Ronda loves welcoming babies and toddlers into our church nurseries. She has lived in River Cities since 2008 and joined our team as Nursery Director in 2013.

Ronda enjoys traveling, especially internationally. She also enjoys cooking and shares her tasty meals with others as needs arise through our Meal Train ministry or when various ministries at RC3 host meals.

Ronda has two adult children, Taylor (Michael Childers) and Chase, and is "Oma" to her three grandchildren.

Andrea Smith

Children's Ministry Director
Andrea loves working with children and has served in various positions in our Children's Ministries since 2013 when God called her to serve. She officially joined our team as Director in January 2023. Andrea began her relationship with Christ as a child and has a passion for helping children grow in their faith and aiding parents in this walk as well.

Andrea was born and raised in Huntington and attended Marshall University for her bachelor's and master's degrees. She met her husband, Matt (who also serves in the Children's Ministry) at Marshall, and they have six children. They enjoy cooking, traveling, and watching God develop their kids' talents.

Susan Greenwood

Youth Director & Connect Ministry Director
Susan has served in many facets of ministry for nearly 30 years. She has written and edited books and other publications, including VBS curriculum, hosted blogs, worked in Christian radio, served on staff with Filter of Hope, and is on the Board of Directors at Tri-State Bible College.

Susan joined the RC3 staff team as Youth Director in 2023 and desires to see our students deeply rooted in God's Word and walking in unwavering faith.

Susan also serves as our Connect Ministry Director, who serves young adults ages 18-29.

Susan and her husband, Chris (also on staff), serve in various ministry capacities. They have three sons and two daughters-in-law: Austin and Katie, Donevan and Elizabeth, and Kyle.

Beth Calvert

Life Skills Director
Because life often produces overwhelming challenges for which we are unprepared, Beth desires to equip people to grow amid these challenges through one-on-one mentoring, support groups, and classes. Appointments can be made with Beth by calling the Church Office at 304-736-8197.

Beth also serves as our Women's Ministry Director. She is passionate about seeing people develop their potential through a love relationship with Jesus and for helping them apply God's Word to their everyday lives, all while trying to make it fun.

She is a graduate of Queens College and has additional training through avenues of seminary and professional continuing education.

Beth and her husband, David, have two daughters, Kitty (Joel Hurdle) and Kemble (Jeff Ruff), and four grandchildren.

Beth enjoys gardening, home projects, bird watching, biking, and walking in her neighborhood.

Melinda Wright

Administrative Assistant
As an Administrative Assistant, Melinda is our church's "first face." She joined the RC3 staff in 2004 and is our Missions Secretary.

Melinda trusted in Christ as her Savior at age 16. She learned about evangelism, discipleship, and inductive Bible study through the ministries of Cru (where she served on staff) and Tri-State Bible College (TSBC - where she serves on the Board of Directors).

She earned a B.A. in Journalism/Advertising from Marshall University and has furthered her biblical studies by taking classes at TSBC, the Institute of Biblical Studies, and Pastor Keith's small group.

Melinda and her husband, John, love spending time with their grandchildren and nephews, traveling, and discussing theology.

Chris Greenwood

Media Director and Maintenance Director
Chris is a long-time member of River Cities Community Church and has served in Youth Ministry, Praise Band, A/V, Deacon, and Elder.

As Director of Media, Chris is responsible for producing video, audio, and graphics that help communicate and enhance our church's various ministries. He also maintains our social media pages and posts engaging content to help keep the message of Christ in front of people through various media forms.
 
His role also includes overseeing church maintenance and working closely with the Trustee Board to care for the facilities God has entrusted to us.

Chris currently enjoys working with our Youth and Connect Ministries.

Chris and his wife Susan (also on staff) serve in various ministry capacities. They have three sons and two daughters-in-law: Austin and Katie, Donevan and Elizabeth, and Kyle.

Carl & Sherri Taliaferro

Custodial Staff
Carl and Sherri have been married for over 40 years and have been members of RC3 for nearly 20 years. They both came to faith in Christ in their teens and have a heart for serving in behind-the-scenes ministries. Carl enjoys serving our senior saints, and Sherri can often be seen doing street ministry.

They are making the most of their retirement years by staying active and serving the Lord by helping to make RC3 a clean and welcoming place.

The Taliaferros have two adult sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Lindsay and Brad and Ashley, and three grandchildren. They spend many nights, weekends, and early mornings on basketball courts or softball, baseball, or soccer fields - and they wouldn't have it any other way!

Lorie Messinger

Custodial Staff
Lorie grew up in a Christian home and trusted in Christ as her Savior as a child. She has called River Cities home since 2021 and joined the staff team in 2023.

Lorie loves participating in various ministries and activities at RC3, including Operation Christmas Child/Shoebox Ministry, SHARE, and GriefShare. She particularly loves being part of two small group Bible studies. She also participates in a parachurch support group for grieving moms.

In her free time, Lorie enjoys thrifting. She and her husband, Bryan, enjoy spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren.
