In very few areas has our contemporary society departed from “Living by the Book” more than in marriage. The confusion about marriage that permeates our culture is due to ignorance of its origin and design. In Genesis chapter two we discover that God established marriage. At the very onset, we learn several principles of God’s design.

* Companionship is the essence of God’s design, v. 18a
* Completion is the essence of God’s design, v. 18b
* Choice is the essence of God’s design, vv. 21-23

Instead of always looking for the right person to marry, try being the right kind of person to marry.
