Acts 13:1-13

In 1990 Henry Blackaby published a workbook entitled Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God. The basic premise of the book is that God is always at work. We must discover where He is working and get on board with the understanding that some major adjustments may need to be made to join God in His work.

In the book of Acts, God has been at work. Jews, Samaritans, and now Gentiles have responded to the gospel message. These early believers got on board with God’s work. In spreading the gospel message “to the ends of the earth” we discover in today’s passage three consequences when God opens doors.

1. When God opens doors, there will be an intentional calling, vv. 1-3.

2. When God opens doors, there will be inescapable challenges, vv. 4-12.

3. When God opens doors, there will be inevitable casualties, v. 13.

God opening doors does not equal an easy life. It does, however, equal an eternal impact.
