For many Christians, witnessing or sharing your faith with others is one of the most intimidating elements of living out one’s faith. However, as one who is sent out by the Lord, sharing our faith is vital. In today’s passage, we have the account of a man called later “the evangelist” (Acts 21:8). Philip, one of the Seven of chapter 6, offers us an example of personal witnessing. Three themes guide us through this example.
1. The contrast of Philip's evangelism, vv. 26-29.
2. The contact of Philip's evangelism, vv. 30-35.
3. The convert of Philip's evangelism, vv. 36-40.
"When a willing Christian communicates the gospel to a prepared listener, spiritual miracles take place" (Kenneth Gangel, Acts, p. 126).
