After His resurrection, Jesus issued a compelling command, “As the Father has sent Me, even so I am sending you” (John 20:21). In today’s passage, Jesus reaffirmed His command to the disciples and us, and in doing so, He gave the message, means, and motivation for obeying it.
Send me out convinced of Your resurrection, vv. 1-3.
Send me out controlled by Your Spirit, vv. 4-8.
Send me out challenged by Your return, vv. 9-11.
Jesus has provided us with everything necessary to obey His command. He is sending you out to share the Good News of the Gospel!
