Last week we learned that every Christian maintains dual citizenship. “Our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20), and we are citizens of an earthly country. We also learned that there are four basic duties that citizens of heaven have regarding our citizenship on earth: obey, pay, pray, and sway. We will look at the final two this morning.
1. To be a citizen by the Book we must obey, 1 Peter 2:13-17.
2. To be a citizen by the Book we must pay, Romans 13:6-7.
3. To be a citizen by the Book we must pray, 1 Timothy 2:1-4.
4. To be a citizen by the Book we must sway.
The natural extension of prayer is involvement. Who or what do you sway?
Pray all kinds of prayers for all kinds of people.
Sway by becoming an agent for good in this world.
