All of us need encouragement along life’s journey. It is safe to say that there are plenty of discouragers out there. Moms tend to be our greatest encourager, our loudest cheerleader.
There is a mother who appears in only one chapter of the New Testament. Even though there is not much information given, what is said speaks volumes. Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist, shines as a model of encouragement. In a world filled with discouragers, be an encourager.

• Like Elizabeth, encourage with your talk.
• Like Elizabeth, encourage with your time.
What became of Elizabeth’s son? Jesus said, “. . . among those born of women none is greater than John” (Luke 7:28). With a mother like Elizabeth, no wonder!
