As Paul closed the third chapter of Philippians, he presented two possibilities of the future. One is a future of joy; the other is a future of eternal sorrow. Since he is writing to Christians, he presented these two possibilities within the framework of four telltale looks.
- Look at godly examples, v. 17
- Look out for counterfeits, vv. 18-19
- Look up for our Savior, vv. 20-21
- Look around to encourage others, 4:1
