Rejoice! Jesus Is Risen

“After His awful, awesome sacrifice on the cross for our sins and after the gloom of the tomb, what were the first recorded words of Jesus upon His resurrection? “Rejoice!” is the word of the day for Easter. Not only do we have the record of the first word of Easter, but tucked within the context of today’s passage we discover three reasons for resurrection rejoicing.
 
• We rejoice because of what the resurrection declares to us, vv. 5-6.
• We rejoice because of what the resurrection demonstrates to us, v. 6.
• We rejoice because of what the resurrection demands of us, vv. 6-7.
 
This Easter, despite your family situation, physical afflictions, or financial condition, you can “Rejoice!”
