Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembering those who in the words of Abraham Lincoln, “gave the last full measure of devotion.” As believers we need to stop and reflect on the work of our Savior who “gave the last full measure of devotion” for us. Jesus gave to the church an ordinance that accomplishes that very thing: communion.
- The Significance of Communion, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28
- The Significance of the Bread, Hebrews 10:19-22
- The Significance of the Cup, 1 Peter 1:18-19
The elements of Communion are simple yet powerful symbols that remind us of Christ’s saving work for us.
