If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Perhaps your answer concerned a physical feature, a job, your social standing, income, or a relationship with someone. If we are honest, many times we think. "I am not pleased with my circumstances in life. If I could only change them, life would take on more meaning."
Almost 2,000 years ago, the Corinthian Christians were thinking the same way! They mistook the idea that radical change wrought in their life by Christ would extend to their outward circumstances. In today's text, Paul instructed these believers that even though circumstances may not change, our beliefs, attitudes, values, and behavior can.
