Can one week really make a difference?
One sunny morning on the Southern coast of Australia, a little boy discovered that hundreds of starfish had washed up on the beach and were dying in the sun. Frantically, the boy began to grab the starfish and fling them back out to the sea. A man jogging down the beach stopped to observe the boy in this seemingly futile exercise. There were far too many starfish to be saved. "I understand what you're doing, son," the man said. "But do you really think it will make a difference?" The boy looked up at the man, then down at the starfish in his own hand. "I don't know, mister," he said. " But I think it will for this one."
We can't make the difference for every child who has been abused, neglected, or abandoned. But we have seen the dramatic impact that a single week of camp can make in the life of an abused child. It has happened over and over again.
You can make the difference for one, or a few. Or for many.
Our Mission: Create life-changing moments for children of abuse.
Royal Family KIDS Camp is faith based and provides a week of camp designed to meet the unique and overwhelming needs of children of neglect and abuse. Our campers are between the ages of 6 -12. The volunteers of RFKC shower the campers with attention, time, and love. They introduce them to the gospel and the unconditional love of God. The campers see that the cycle of abuse and neglect can be broken. By the end of the week they are walking a little taller; a little more confident. They just experienced their first large dose of hope. They are worthy and they now have hope.
Is God calling you to serve with RFKC, a one week mission trip that positively impacts our campers, our volunteers, and You!
